In 2018, I decided to bet on myself.
I left the security of a full-time job and built a career as a freelance video editor in Hollywood, working with marketing agencies of all sizes.
In 2023, I launched my own LLC, Drew Dorenfest A/V, and began working directly with clients.
With that came the full reality of being my own boss.
Suddenly, I wasn’t just editing videos…. I was pitching, cold-emailing, posting, branding, and trying every platform and growth hack I could find. I signed up for TikTok. I invested in lead generation services. I spent late nights tweaking websites and captions.
The harder I pushed, the more I realized something important:
doing more wasn’t the same as growing.
So I dove headfirst into SEO, digital strategy, and automation.
The impact on my business was immediate. For the first time, instead of chasing clients, the right clients started finding me.
